your design identity tool
How to use your map
1. Become the archaeologist of your talent.
What comes effortlessly to you? Start noticing what patterns show up again and again in your creative work.
2. Build your influence map.
List 10 creators (any medium) whose work resonates with you — authors, designers, filmmakers, product creators, etc. Think wide.
3. Make a mind map.
Put the thing you love doing most in the center. Then map out your influencer team, and pull in their qualities and attributes.
4. Translate it into a visual moodboard.
Use collage, Midjourney, or Miro. This is about visual synthesis — letting your unconscious guide the insight.
5. Reflect.
If this collage represented a designer you were hiring, what would you say they’re brilliant at? What’s their edge? What values drive them?
This is a tool to see your creative identity fully formed — not just what you do, but who you are becoming.
