Niya C Sisk MFA
Niya is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and designer whose work bridges visual storytelling, psychology, and narrative expression. Combined with a long career designing visual communications and iconography for Silicon Valley companies, she pursued her lifelong passion for painting, developing bodies of work that combines emotional insight, story, and imagination. Her paintings often function as “story maps,” weaving together themes of memory, identity, travel, human relationships, and the inner creative life.
Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows throughout California, Colorado, and Oregon, including exhibitions in Portland’s Pearl District, the Boulder County Arts Alliance, and Sonoma, California. Her sketchbooks are part of the permanent collection of the Brooklyn Art Library Sketchbook Project.
In addition to her visual art practice, Niya has been featured in interviews, essays, radio programs, magazines, and creative workshops focused on narrative painting, creativity, and the artistic process. She holds an MFA in Fiction Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and a BA in Psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz with a focus on creative mind processes.
Her large-scale figurative and narrative works are held in private collections across the United States and Europe.
